Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has finally spoken out following the tragic attack that claimed several lives in Jos, Plateau State. The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage and concern across the country, occurred on Palm Sunday in the Angwan Rukuba community.
According to reports, unidentified gunmen stormed the area, killing at least 28 residents and leaving many others injured. The attack has been described as one of the most disturbing episodes of violence in recent times, with families thrown into mourning and survivors left traumatized.
Cubana Chief Priest Speaks Out
In a lengthy post shared on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest expressed deep sympathy for the victims and their families. The businessman, who has been in the spotlight recently due to a DNA controversy involving an alleged baby mama, Helen Attoh, used the opportunity to address the broader issue of insecurity in the country.
He suggested that the timing of the attack was not coincidental, claiming it may have been orchestrated to embarrass Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his birthday.
In his words: “I feel for everyone in Jos. This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday.”
Beyond his speculation, he called on security agencies to intensify their efforts in protecting lives and property, emphasizing the need for swift action against those responsible. He also offered prayers for the souls of the deceased and comfort for grieving families.
Governor Mutfwang Imposes Curfew
Meanwhile, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has responded to the crisis with decisive measures aimed at restoring order. In an official statement, the governor announced the imposition of a 48-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area.
The curfew is intended to help security operatives regain control of the situation and track down those behind the attack. Governor Mutfwang also urged residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative with authorities, stressing the importance of providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
The government further reassured citizens of its commitment to ensuring safety and preventing a recurrence of such tragic events.
