Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy after publicly declaring he possesses Mohbad video evidence allegedly revealing how the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was killed. Fabiyi shared this new claim in a video posted on his social media pages, where he also made a direct appeal to President Bola Tinubu for urgent intervention in the long-running case.

Fabiyi’s Fresh Allegation and Appeal to the President

In his video message, the actor alleged that a disturbing clip was secretly sent to him by unknown individuals. According to him, those behind the clip intended to use the Mohbad video evidence to extort him and manipulate the ongoing investigation.

Fabiyi said, “President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an apparent attempt to extort me. Your office wrote and gave a directive to the Inspector General of Police that they should investigate, harmonise, and prosecute.”

He insisted that the Federal Government had already taken interest in the matter after his initial petition and that relevant authorities had been notified. Fabiyi’s renewed outcry, he noted, was necessary because the investigation was allegedly being compromised.

Claims of Key Suspects and a Growing Cover-Up

The actor went further to accuse some individuals connected to the case of being complicit in a cover-up. According to him, officials at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja reviewed the case file and identified certain persons who should be treated as suspects.

He explained that the development intensified in November 2025 when Mohbad’s widow appeared before investigators in Abuja. Fabiyi claimed that rather than strengthening the probe, some forces were now trying to suppress crucial information linked to the Mohbad video evidence he referenced.

He said, “As of November 2025, after the FCID in Abuja noted key suspects already complicit in the alleged cover-up, the wife of the deceased turned herself in Abuja. Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests.”

Accusations of Police Intimidation

Fabiyi also alleged that certain police officers were attempting to intimidate or silence him because of the materials he claimed to be holding. According to him, these actions are coordinated attempts to discourage him from pushing further for justice.

He added, “This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you. I don’t know why it is wrong to be loyal to your government. I am putting my life on the line to stand by this government and to speak the truth.”

The actor maintained that his decision to speak publicly was driven by concern for justice and transparency. He said the Mohbad video evidence must be taken seriously and should not be suppressed for personal or political interests.

Public Reactions and Calls for Proper Investigation

Fabiyi’s video quickly spread across multiple social media platforms, prompting a wave of reactions. Many online users expressed confusion and concern, urging him to follow due process rather than releasing emotional appeals online. Some viewers questioned why the alleged evidence had not been formally submitted to the police, while others encouraged him to prioritize legal procedures to avoid jeopardizing the case.

Several users stressed that if the Mohbad video evidence truly exists, it should be handed directly to investigators and preserved properly to aid prosecution. They also warned that public speculation could escalate tensions surrounding the already sensitive case.

The new claims have once again placed the spotlight on the unresolved circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, fueling renewed calls for transparency, accountability, and a credible investigation.
