The IMSU cut-off mark for all courses in the 2025/2026 academic session has officially been announced by the management of Imo State University, Owerri. As one of the leading state-owned institutions in Nigeria, IMSU continues to attract thousands of applicants each year, all aiming to secure a spot in its diverse academic programs. Established in 1981 by Law No. 4 of the Imo State House of Assembly, the university has grown into a major hub for higher education in the southeast region, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Overview of IMSU

Imo State University (IMSU) is a public tertiary institution situated in the heart of Owerri, the capital of Imo State. The university is known for its commitment to academic excellence, research, and community development. Over the years, IMSU has expanded its academic structure to include 14 faculties and over 60 accredited degree programs across various disciplines, ensuring that students have a broad selection of study areas to choose from.

IMSU Cut-Off Mark for 2025/2026

For the 2025/2026 academic year, the IMSU cut-off mark for all courses has been set at 150. This means that only candidates who score 150 or above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are eligible to apply for the university’s Post UTME screening form. However, admission into most courses is highly competitive, so meeting the general cut-off mark does not guarantee admission.

Additionally, IMSU has set a departmental cut-off mark of 180 and above for some faculties and programs. This departmental benchmark is calculated based on an applicant’s aggregate score, which includes their JAMB score, Post-UTME result, and O’Level grades. Candidates who attain this minimum threshold or higher stand a better chance of securing admission into their preferred departments.
