The growing concerns surrounding the Kaduna vicar abduction deepened after a distressed family member revealed that kidnappers used the victim’s own mobile phone to upload a photo of him and his wife on Facebook. The family, still in shock over the development, has called for urgent government action to ensure the safe return of the abducted Anglican cleric and his spouse, who have been missing for nearly a month.

Relative Exposes Disturbing Social Media Update

A man identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @monsieur_avreel drew nationwide attention after sharing a troubling update regarding his uncle, the Anglican vicar of the Kaduna Diocese, Venerate Edwin Achi, and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Achi. According to him, the couple had been taken by kidnappers weeks earlier, and the abductors had now found a way to gain access to the vicar’s phone.

He explained that the kidnappers snapped a new photo of the couple while still in captivity and posted it directly on the vicar’s Facebook page. This chilling development left the family alarmed, as it suggested that the kidnappers were monitoring the couple’s online presence and possibly using it to increase psychological pressure on their loved ones.

The man appealed publicly for help, urging Nigerians to join him in calling on President Tinubu to intervene. He noted that similar high-profile cases — such as the rescued 24 Kebbi schoolgirls and the 38 Kwara CAC members — were only resolved after swift federal action. He expressed hope that his uncle’s case would receive the same attention.

He wrote:

“Today, the kidnappers used his phone, took this picture and uploaded it on his Facebook page. Please you people should beg @officialABAT to call them, like he called them personally for the release of others. What kinda Godforsaken excuse of a country is this!!!”

Activist Reveals Ransom Demand

Providing further insight into the Kaduna vicar abduction, human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, founder of Safe City Foundation, confirmed that the kidnappers were demanding a staggering ₦600 million to release the couple. Harrison emphasized that the newly released photo indicated the presence of multiple captives, suggesting the attack was not an isolated incident.

He stressed that the growing number of mass abductions across the region calls for immediate and decisive government response. Harrison urged both the Federal Government and the Kaduna State Government to intensify their efforts toward the safe rescue of all victims involved in the operation.

Harrison wrote:

“Ven. Edwin Achi of the Anglican Communion, Diocese of Kaduna, a native of Umuaja in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, and his wife Mrs. Sarah Achi, were kidnapped in Kaduna on 28th October 2025. Today, they remain in captivity, with the abductors demanding an outrageous ₦600,000,000 ransom.”

He added that the released photo provided a glimpse into the broader scope of the crisis, showing other victims seated alongside the couple. According to him, this highlights a rising wave of insecurity that demands immediate attention.

Family Pleads for Federal Intervention

As the Kaduna vicar abduction story spreads, calls for prompt action continue to grow. The family fears that every passing day worsens the emotional stress and uncertainty faced by the victims and their loved ones. They insist that only a firm, government-led rescue effort can ensure the couple’s safe return.

Harrison concluded:

“This situation is unacceptable. Every day these victims remain in captivity is another day of trauma and uncertainty for their families and communities. The Government must intervene immediately to secure their safe release.”
