The unfolding Peggy Ovire controversy has taken a new twist, as the Nollywood actress publicly addressed the N100 million lawsuit filed against her by actor Taye Arimoro. In her detailed statement, Peggy Ovire insisted that Taye’s version of events was incomplete and misleading, noting that he left out crucial facts surrounding the clash on set. With the leaked CCTV footage now fueling more debate, the Peggy Ovire case continues to dominate Nollywood discussions.

Taye Arimoro’s Claims and Alleged Assault on Set

Taye Arimoro had earlier accused the actress and her crew of attacking him during film production. He claimed his tyres were deliberately deflated, his exit blocked, and that he suffered physical injuries after attempting to leave the movie location. Images showing wounds around his mouth were posted online as evidence, and he insisted that the attack was unprovoked.

However, Peggy countered these accusations with a different narrative.

Peggy Ovire’s Legal Response and Counter–Narrative

In a formal response issued by her legal team, Peggy stated that Taye’s accusations were “selective” and “materially false.” She argued that the actor failed to mention the events that triggered the confrontation. According to the actress, the situation escalated only after crew members asked Taye to return to the set to complete his scene, but he allegedly reacted violently.

Peggy claimed that Taye first assaulted the production manager, Luke Obayi, during a brief dispute. The actress also said he went on to head-butt her driver, Joshua Madu, leaving him bleeding from the ears and nose. She added that several crew members submitted written accounts to the police confirming these alleged assaults.

Why Peggy Says He Was Restrained From Leaving

Naijanewz reported earlier that, Peggy clarified that no one attempted to attack Taye without cause. She explained that after the alleged assaults, Taye tried to escape the location before the police could intervene, and any attempt to restrain him was to ensure the matter was legally handled.

While Taye accused Peggy of assaulting him and orchestrating the tyre deflation, she firmly denied these claims. According to her, the only physical contact was a “light push,” which she said happened after Taye allegedly tried to deflate her own vehicle’s tyres during the commotion.

CCTV Footage Leaks and Sparks Fresh Controversy

Just when the situation seemed to be settling, the controversy resurfaced with a leaked CCTV video from the filming environment. The short clip showed Peggy taking off her wig, handing her phone to someone nearby, and walking toward Taye in what looked like a charged or confrontational manner.

Though the clip did not capture a full altercation, it quickly stirred arguments online. Some viewers believed the footage suggested that Peggy might have intended to engage physically, while others insisted the recording lacked context and could not be used to draw definite conclusions.

Fans Divided as the Case Intensifies

The emergence of the footage reopened discussions about who was telling the truth. Social media users remain divided, with supporters on both sides interpreting the clip differently. While Peggy maintains she never assaulted Taye, critics argue that the video raises questions that her statement did not address.

As the legal dispute progresses, the public continues to watch closely, awaiting further developments that may reveal more about what truly happened on set between the two Nollywood stars.
