A disturbing story has emerged online after a Nigerian single mum regretfully narrated how her son’s life changed drastically following a visit to his father. The woman took to social media to express her pain, explaining that her previously healthy son returned in a shocking condition that has left her devastated.
Raised by His Mother for 15 Years
According to the woman, her son, Wisdom, had been under her sole care for 15 years. She explained that although she and the boy’s father ended their relationship due to persistent family conflicts, they maintained occasional communication concerning their child’s welfare. She emphasized that throughout those years, Wisdom grew up healthy, energetic, and capable of managing his daily activities without assistance.
Son Insists on Seeing His Father
The mother further revealed that the situation began when Wisdom repeatedly pleaded to visit his father. His insistence became so intense that, despite her concerns, she allowed him to go on September 8, 2019. At the time, Wisdom showed no signs of health issues, and she felt confident that he was stable enough for the visit. Her decision, however, soon became the source of overwhelming single mum regret.
Father Relocates and Cuts Off Contact
Shortly after the visit, things took an unexpected turn. The boy’s father relocated with Wisdom without notifying her. He allegedly blocked all her attempts to reach or see her child. She said she tried repeatedly through calls and WhatsApp messages, but the father insisted there was “no need” for her to see him. For months, she remained anxious, unsure of her son’s wellbeing and deeply troubled by the sudden loss of contact.
A Heartbreaking Discovery
On February 19, 2021, the father finally reached out, informing her that Wisdom was unwell and urging her to come over. She rushed to their new home, only to meet a sight she said she would never forget. Her once-healthy son was now weak, frail, and struggling to use his legs. He could no longer perform basic tasks on his own. Shocked and broken, she immediately took him back home that same day.
To raise awareness and seek support, the mother posted a TikTok video showing Wisdom’s current state, pleading with the public for help.
Hospitals and Churches, but No Improvement
Trying everything she could, the mother said she moved from hospital to hospital, and even sought help in different churches. Despite her efforts, Wisdom’s condition did not improve. She admitted that the root cause of his sudden decline remains unknown, adding to her heartbreak and continued single mum regret over ever allowing him to visit his father.
Her Emotional Statement
In her own words, she shared:
“So this is my son, Wisdom, but I decided to call him Jedidiah, meaning ‘beloved of the Lord,’ because truly, that’s what he is…”
She explained how he begged to see his father, how she eventually gave in, and how everything changed afterward. She described the moment she saw him again as “a day I will never forget.”
