Chinwe Elibe

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Chinwe Elibe has stirred reactions online after publicly accusing a stylist of allegedly scamming her and a friend out of a combined ₦1.2 million ahead of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

The reality TV star took to social media to narrate her frustrating experience, claiming that the stylist identified as Prince Innovations collected huge sums of money from both ladies for their AMVCA outfits but allegedly failed to deliver the promised services.

According to Chinwe, she paid ₦800,000 while her friend Ruthie allegedly transferred ₦400,000 to the stylist in preparation for the glamorous award event. However, after receiving the payment, the stylist reportedly became unreachable, leaving the ladies stranded just days before the ceremony.

The incident has since sparked conversations online, especially among fans and social media users who expressed disappointment over the growing number of fraud allegations within the fashion and entertainment industry.

Alleged Encounter at the Event

In a surprising twist, Chinwe claimed they unexpectedly saw the stylist at the AMVCA venue despite allegedly avoiding their calls and messages for days. The reality star said his appearance at the event shocked them because they believed he would stay away after the alleged incident.

Clearly angered by the development, Chinwe recorded and shared videos online while confronting the stylist publicly. She accused him of using deceit to gain attention and warned others to be careful when dealing with him.

She said:

“So, guys, this is the face of the thief. This guy scammed me of N800,000 and scammed Ruthie of N400,000, in the name of styling us for AMVCA outfits. So he came to the AMVCA, because he didn’t expect us to come. His cup is full, his name is Prince Innovations. You want to be popular, welcome to stardom”.

Social Media Reactions Trail the Drama

Since the accusation surfaced online, many social media users have reacted with mixed opinions. While some sympathized with Chinwe and her friend, others advised celebrities and influencers to always work with trusted professionals or sign formal agreements before making huge payments.

The controversy has also reignited conversations about accountability in Nigeria’s entertainment and fashion space. Many people believe that as the entertainment industry continues to grow, professionalism and transparency must also improve to prevent similar disputes.

As of the time of filing this report, the accused stylist has not publicly responded to the allegations made by Chinwe Elibe and her friend.
