President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and patriotic despite the numerous challenges facing the country, including insecurity, economic hardship, and growing public criticism of his administration.

The President made the remarks during a televised address that has since gained attention on social media. In a video shared on X by @nigeriastories, Tinubu was seen speaking to the nation and encouraging citizens not to lose faith in Nigeria, regardless of their political opinions or frustrations with the current state of affairs.

Addressing Nigerians directly, the President stressed that criticism is a normal part of democracy and leadership, noting that citizens have every right to disagree with his policies and decisions. However, he urged them not to allow their dissatisfaction with government to translate into a loss of confidence in the country itself.

“Criticise me, disagree with me, but never stop believing in Nigeria,” Tinubu said during the broadcast.

The statement has sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms. While some supporters praised the President for promoting national unity and optimism, others questioned his leadership credentials and his administration’s ability to address the country’s pressing challenges.

Critics pointed to the rising cost of living, inflation, unemployment, and persistent security threats as reasons why many Nigerians remain dissatisfied with the current government. Some online commentators argued that the administration should focus more on delivering tangible results rather than making inspirational appeals to the public.

In addition to calling for national unity, Tinubu issued a stern warning to criminal elements operating across the country. He specifically addressed bandits, kidnappers, terrorists, and those allegedly financing acts of violence, declaring that the government would no longer tolerate activities that threaten the safety and well-being of Nigerians.

The President stated:

“To bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror, surrender now or face the full force of the Nigerian state. This window of surrender will not remain open forever. No mercy will be shown to those who trade in the blood of Nigerians.”

The strong warning comes amid ongoing security operations by Nigerian security agencies aimed at combating terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes in different parts of the country.

For many Nigerians, the challenge remains balancing hope for a better future with the realities of the country’s current economic and security situation.
